COMBAT USE: Italian armed forces and police, OVRA

The standard issue pistol for the Italian Army during the war. Reliable and handy, the Beretta was considered underpowered in comparison to the sidearms of other combatants. The OVRA used a version fitted with a silencer.

The M1935 was based on the same design as the M1934 but was chambered for the smaller 7.65mm cartridge (.32 ACP). The M1935 was issued to the Italian Navy and Air Force, and was also used by the Italian police. The pistol otherwise shares the same statistics as the M1934.
